Jamaica Photos & Story

May 31, 2008

Over 2 Weeks in 3 of the largest cities in Jamaica: Montego Bay, Mandeville and Kingston- We built. We set up. We rode. We spoke about the Gospel and humanity’s need for the Savior. They laughed when we fell. They called our tricks “Stunts.” We had skateboards, BMX, and Motocross- which they went super crazy for.  The arial photo is of the festival early in the afternoon, and the night shot was of 50-70,000 people who showed up for the message and DJ NICHOLAS. The dude is super popular there and Jamaicans know how to dance, sing and praise with no reserve. Luis Palau gave an in depth invitation to come home to Jesus if you’ve strayed into the world like the prodigal son. The artist Prodigal Son was there too, and he was just as popular as DJ Nicholas.

REPENTANCE IS THE CURE.

What the crap is Zach babbling about!?

May 27, 2008

Zachariah Hillbrich is one of my favorite people on planet Earth.

If you do not heed his recommendation, you will not rejoice with us.

Family, I am grieved that some of you will not willingly introduce yourselves to my beloved sisters Anorexia  and Nervosa.

Those are the reviews for the greatest concept albums made. Don’t argue with me. Argue with yourself after you’ve tasted and seen.

Lots of love from the Lamb.

Seems Silly.

So i have a glimpse of what Steven, John Mark McMillan’s mentor had in mind when he prayed, “Lord, if it would shake the youth of the nations, i would give my life.”

Honestly, tonight my heart hurt to hear about kids my age in Nebraska committing suicide and leaving pregnant girlfriends behind to fend for themselves. I hurt to see such a small wave of revival in a place like my church, where I see God show up and show off  daily. It pains me to see privileged youths trapped in prideful walls of protection from injuries that they know too familiarly.

God wrote a song through me this morning in my car at 2am. I honestly felt the Enemy lurking like he was waiting to intercept the song and keep it from ever being heard. I felt this mindset rise up inside that said “God, if it takes my death to be the revolution and protect what you’ve started, I’d willingly face death with valor.”

I’ve never felt such a peace about death before.

I pray this song causes my generation and the ones to come to dance and cry and seek freedom in Jesus the King of Kings and lover of our souls.

Stay tuned into CATALYST and hopefully you’ll hear it soon. :)

Indiana Gay.

Really cheeseball. Entertaining, but way to much CG and the HD took away from the rawness of it. The performance by Shia Leobuff was impressive, but the movie was just so bad.

But anywhoo anyone remember this?!

PS, Ben is so loved.

Jesus is.

May 4, 2008

Too much to tell…

I’m at peace sitting at an incredibly comfy and cush island resort. I finally found internet. My contentment is not in correlation to my comfort or convenient web access, though.  It is because I saw God move tonight.

I asked God what i should do once i got shuttled back to the hotel after the last night of this festival… and he didn’t say much… I hadn’t emailed my mom in days so i sought out internet and ended up in this random back hallway of the hotel where there’s 4 computers. 2 minutes into my Web lurkage, two English dudes stroll in from the “Pub” and proceeded to find out about the people using the computers. These other ladies on the computers i wasn’t using told the Chaps that they were with a Christian Crusade and from there the fireworks started.

The blokes were bratty and intoxicated, but nice enough to attempt to censor their language for us… haha. But i jumped in with certain answers to questions about abstinence and sexuality. Then the quieter fellow who had a very sharp resemblence to a Mr Bob Dylan asked me a question and in all seriousness he said, “So, seriously… Why do YOU believe in God?”

I had to think about it, but then i thought that when you walk along side someone down the sidewalk, you don’t take time to think about believing in them. There’s no question. And more often than not, I find myself worrying about many other little details that shouldn’t take such a priority. Nevertheless, i believe cause I talk to him and see Him move, and hear his words, and see his words work daily.

Long story short, God helped my answers and comments in the conversation slowly intrigue the quiet guy, while his wild friend dismissed the conversation on a whim and ran off to bed. So Alystir Reynolds, a gentleman of 24 from Knottingham England wearing a tshirt with a nude woman wearing a Gasmask and skinny black jeans with all-black chucks (to be vague) sat on the carpeted floor and asked lots of deep questions about religion, God, sex, faith, grace, sin, temptation, worship, the Bible and many other rabbit trails for the next 2 hours.  I felt so blessed that this guy genuinely wanted to know the answers and wasn’t just asking questions to be diffocult or argue. Throughout the conversation i noticed his growing internal struggle with the idea that God’s justice and grace and plan were very interesting, and that Christians aren’t all a bunch of ignorant sheep who listen to Joel Osteen… Not that he knows who that is, but back to the point. We two gentleman agreed on a peaceable pause in conversation for the sake of sanity, being it 330am. I got his facebook and will be sharing the wonders of God’s logic via Ravi Zacharias with him soon!

It’s been so long since the Father has allowed me to witness using apologetics and answer specific and pointed questions. The spirit brought to mind many scriptures and stories and metaphors and examples…  I’m so excited for my brother to get saved. :)

I get picked up in 4 hours to drive from Montego Bay to Kingston for the festival finale. The team doesn’t know i found a ride and they think i’ll just be lurking in the hotel for 2 days before i go home, so it’s exciting that I get to surprise them. After doing shows with them, and dancing my extremities into sheer exhaustion to Toby Mac-Great show tonight… no Seriously! and many many incredibly talented Jamaican acts like Papa San (Dude rocks!) Dj Nicholas :)  and OMG ISRAEL Houston! WOWIE, I’ll fly home to Coloradical and tell you all the stories.

This is some project a kid made, but the snippits of messages are some of my favorites.

Thoughts? comments? dissagreements?
